Crappy Anniversary, Everyone!

My goodness! Can it be four years? Why, it can be and it is - four years! My, how time flies when you're having fun! Ah, the bittersweet memories, my friends! Now let me think....what was it they told us again??? Oh yes! I remember now!

"It's a slam-dunk"!

"We'll be greeted as liberators."

"We'll be in and out of there is six months."

"It will be a cake walk."
.

"9/11 changed everything."

"Iraq is central to the war in terror."

"We'll be greeted with flowers and candies."

"We could do it with one-hundred and fifty thousand troops."

"Saddam Hussein had connections to Osama bin Laden."

"This war is about ridding Saddam of weapons of mass destruction."

"This war is about bringing freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people."

"This war is about defeating al Queda."

"MISSION ACCOMPLISHED"!

"BRING 'EM ON"!

"This is a major turning point."

"That is a major turning point."

"The insurgency is in its final throes."

"We've turned a corner."

"When they stand up, we'll stand down."

"Absolutely we're winning."

"Freedom in Iraq is on the march."

And let us not forget the First Fool's famous sixteen words:

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

I think I'm going to be sick.

Four years after the stupidest foreign policy blunder in American history, possibly over half a million Iraqi men, women and little children have been slaughtered for nothing - that's not to mention over thirty-two hundred American kids whose lives have been "wasted" - a term that Senators Obama and McCain have recently gotten chastised in the media for using but (let's be honest, people) if the shoe fits....

Once again (like his disastrous venture into the oil business in the 1980s) poor Dubya has tried and utterly failed to one-up his father. The first Gulf War of 1990 looked so easy! Poppy's people went in there and BAM! - before you knew it they were having a ticker tape parade down Broadway for the returning troops!

"If Daddy kin do it, Ah kin do it!"

Once again, poor little George has come face to face with his own inadequacies in the psychological battle of wills with his father. But this time, he's dragged all of his once-great nation and a large part of the world down with him.

The following is the text of a message I sent this morning to George W. Bush at the White House in Washington DC (a photostat of the actual letter may be viewed at the top of this page):

Dear President Bush,
Today on MSNBC, they re-broadcast the footage from May 1, 2003 of you on the deck of the aircraft carrier, Abraham Lincoln. I saw the Mission Accomplished banner. I saw you in that silly flight suit. I saw you with that disgusting smirk on your face as you declared, "Major combat operations in Iraq are over." Question: Sir, with the benefit of 20/20 historical hindsight, do you even have a clue as to how fucking stupid you look?

Just wondering.

Love and peace,

Tom Degan

PS - By the way, when you get a chance, have a look at my blog:

The disaster of Iraq is mind-numbing. The Lancet study figures c.655,000 Iraqis have died in the war. Meanwhile, the ongoing genocide tragedy in Darfur continues and is largely ignored by this administration because is considers it a rogue state. True or not, the little people in Darfur pay the price – they are not worthy of rescue since they are not living in an oil rich region and where the concept of hegemony plays no part in US foreign policy.

With all of the lies and back pedaling from the Bush administration, where is the outrage? Clinton was impeached for a damned blow job and this clown has squandered lives, endangered our national security, almost bankrupted our economy, made enemies with almost every other country in the world, filled all of his political positions with incompetent political hacks, shredded the Constitution and the list goes on. Why is he still in office?

Why is he still in office?
Good question.
Why does Pelosi keep saying "impeachment is 'off the table'"?
Another good question.
The answer: the powers that be are not what we think they are.
They never have been.
I don't consider myself a "conspiracy freak", but what we the people think America is are way off target, and have been since the birth of this nation.
Bush will never be impeached, indicted, nor will he resign or be held accountable in any way.
Watch.
If you can stomach it...

Tom,

Great Rant! Maybee President Pork Pie will indeed visit this blog! Maybee he will post a comment! Maybee we will all get the oft-prayed for chance to rip on on him most mercilessly! Maybee dogs will suddenly sprout wings and fly! (Since all those pigs in North Carolina did so after Heath Schuler beat "Chainsaw Charley" in the last election the pig scenario is now redundant!)

Ah! We can dream can't we! After all we got rid of "Chainsaw Charley"!

I've got to check out the television right quick! I hear they're having the first ice skating meet in Hell, and "Fox Sports" is covering it!
